Library Circulation Assistant – Essex Library; Essex, VT

The Town of Essex is receiving applications for a part‑time position as a Library Circulation Assistant for the Essex Free Library.

Under the direct supervision of the Library Director, the Library Circulation Assistant I provides support at the circulation desk for both library patrons and staff, and contributes to the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the library.

This position’s hours alternate between 3 hours per week and 8 hours per week, for a weekly average of 5.5 hours. Hours include every Tuesday evening from 5-8, and every other Saturday from 9-2. There is the opportunity for this candidate to pick up additional hours as needed and available.

The qualified candidate should have a High School Diploma or GED, familiarity with library management systems or ability to learn, and experience working with people of all ages.

The minimum starting salary is $18 per hour with the actual starting salary based on qualifications and experience. This is a part‑time, non‑union, hourly position. There are no benefits associated with this role.
