Description
National Capital Treatment & Recovery (formerly Phoenix House Mid-Atlantic) is a nonprofit substance use treatment facility located in Arlington, VA. We are hiring a part-time HR Assistant to support the HR team with a focus on compliance and credentialing.
Position: HR Assistant (part‑time, 20 hours per week, hourly). The schedule is flexible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Main point of contact for all employee credentialing (licenses and certifications such as MD, NP, LPC, LCSW, LPN, CSAC, CSAC‑A). Coordinate with vendors and insurance payors.
- Handle corporate insurance applications for new providers and work with brokers on malpractice and certificates of insurance.
- Assist employees with CSAC/CSAC‑A credentialing, tracking renewal dates and ensuring timely compliance.
- Provide administrative support to the department: purchase requests, credit requests, ordering supplies, and catering as needed.
- Audit employee files and follow up on outstanding documentation.
- Support onboarding tasks and follow‑up with new hires.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Maintain ethical standards and promote professional growth: adhere to program policies, uphold CARF standards, represent NCTR’s quality and ethical practices, attend training, and maintain professional boundaries with staff and clients.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of office experience, with HR experience preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to exceptional professionalism and customer service.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Team‑player with effective organizational, time‑management, and planning skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Ability to prepare and maintain required documentation.
- Knowledge of state and federal confidentiality regulations.
- Strong technical skills with MS365 and HRIS proficiency.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to prepare and maintain documentation accurately.
