PERFECT ZERO E-Commerce Systems & Operations Manager About Perfect Zero

Perfect Zero is a fast-growing e-commerce retailer of premium firearms parts and accessories, spun out of Atlas Gunworks — a manufacturer of luxury
1911-platform pistols. We sell direct to consumers through our Shopware storefront and are building the operational infrastructure to scale aggressively.

We’re a lean, capable team with deep product knowledge and a strong brand. What we need now is experienced e-commerce leadership to professionalize our systems and unlock our next stage of growth.

The Opportunity

This is a ground-floor opportunity to own the e-commerce technology stack and fulfillment operations at a company with strong product-market fit and serious growth ambitions.

You will serve as the internal expert bridging front-end merchandising, back-end systems integration, and warehouse operations. You’ll manage outside development and integration contractors, define requirements, and hold vendors accountable to timelines and deliverables. Longer term, you will build out the team and processes needed to support a significantly larger SKU count and order volume.

Key Responsibilities Platform & Systems Management
  • Own the Shopware storefront: product catalog, taxonomy, pricing rules, promotional configuration, and site UX.
  • Own system documentation, service level agreements, standard operating procedures, and user training across all platforms.
Catalog & Merchandising
  • Manage product data management (PDM) workflows including bulk data imports, attribute mapping, variant configuration, and digital asset management (DAM).
  • Configure cross-sells, upsells, and bundling logic to maximize AOV.
  • Execute product launches, promotional campaigns, and seasonal merchandising updates.
  • Maintain catalog hygiene: pricing accuracy, inventory availability, SEO metadata, and image standards.
Fulfillment & Warehouse Operations
  • Own the pick-pack-ship workflow from order transmission to carrier handoff.
  • Configure and maintain shipping rate logic, carrier integrations, and label printing workflows.
  • Establish inventory accuracy protocols including cycle counts, receiving SOPs, and shrinkage controls.
  • Ensure all fulfillment activity generates clean accounting transactions (COGS recognition, inventory adjustments, return/refund flows).
  • Implement e-commerce KPI dashboards: conversion rate, AOV, cart abandonment, fulfillment SLA, order error rate, and inventory turns.
  • Use site analytics (Google Analytics 4, Shopware reporting) to identify UX friction and drive A/B testing.
  • Support AI SEO strategy: on-page optimization, structured data markup, site speed, and technical SEO health.
Qualifications Required
  • 3+ years in an e-commerce operations, platform management, or digital operations role with direct hands‑on responsibility for a transactional storefront.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or participating in an e-commerce, OMS or WMS implementation or migration — you understand requirements definition, vendor evaluation, UAT, and go‑live.
  • Working knowledge of e-commerce platform architecture (Shopware, Shopify, Magento, Big Commerce, or equivalent) and how the front end connects to back‑end fulfillment and accounting systems.
  • Ability to write clear technical requirements and manage outside developers or integration contractors without being a developer yourself.
  • Strong understanding of fulfillment operations: pick/pack workflows, carrier integrations, shipping rate configuration, and returns processing.
  • Enough accounting fluency to understand how order and inventory transactions are reconciled by our accounting team.
  • Proficiency with product data management: bulk imports via CSV/XML, attribute configuration, variant management, and image/media workflows.
Preferred
  • Experience with Shopware specifically, or familiarity with its extension architecture and admin panel.
  • Background in firearms, outdoor sporting goods, or other regulated e-commerce verticals.
  • Experience with Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager, and technical SEO fundamentals.
  • Prior experience in a startup or high‑growth environment where you’ve had to build processes from scratch.
Salary

Salary: $75,000 – $95,000 depending on experience.

Benefits
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and sick leave
  • Company gym and wellness resources
