Mountain Views Supervisory Union is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll and HR Assistant to join our Central Office team. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate payroll processing while also providing administrative support to Human Resources functions.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, systems, and people, and who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Position SummaryUnder the supervision of the Director of Finance & Operations, the Payroll and HR Assistant is responsible for processing payroll using Power School (eFinance Plus), managing timekeeping and absence tracking through Red Rover, and supporting HR operations in an administrative capacity.
This position serves as the district’s primary administrator and subject matter expert for Red Rover (timekeeping and absence management) and works closely with school and district staff to ensure accurate and timely payroll and personnel processes.
Key Responsibilities Payroll & Systems- Process payroll and maintain employee records in Power School (eFinance Plus)
- Manage and administer Red Rover, including timekeeping, absence tracking, system setup, troubleshooting, and reporting
- Reconcile attendance and payroll data and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and submit payroll-related reports (state, federal, retirement systems, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and payroll regulations
- Support annual audit processes and year-end reporting (W-2s, etc.)
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes
- Maintain personnel records and ensure compliance with legal requirements
- Assist with benefits administration and employee communications
- Support leave tracking (FMLA, medical leave, etc.)
- Maintain HR systems and assist with reporting and compliance documentation
- Serve as a resource to staff on payroll and Red Rover
- Train staff on systems and processes as needed
- Support evolving Business Office needs, including state reporting and compliance functions
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in payroll, HR, finance, or office administration (or equivalent combination)
- Experience with Power School (eFinance Plus), Red Rover, or similar systems preferred
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and customer service skills
This position is based in a standard office setting at the Central Office. The role requires regular use of computers and office equipment and occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs).
