Summary

At RFTS, we believe caring for our staff is just as important as caring for the children we serve. As a licensed four‑star childcare center in Essex Junction, we’ve created a true “home away from home” where curiosity is encouraged, relationships matter, and both children and educators are given the space to grow.
ResponsibilitiesProviding lunch‑break coverage so teachers can recharge.
- Assisting classroom teachers in meeting children’s daily needs with patience and care.
- Supporting daily cleaning routines and helping with laundry to maintain a healthy environment.
- Stepping in to cover staff absences and keep classrooms running seamlessly.
- Helping organize supplies, restock materials, and maintain an orderly, well‑prepared space.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Meet at least one of the following early childhood education requirements:
- Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level 1 or Level 2 Certificate, or
- Current Child Development Associate (CDA) plus at least 12 months of experience working with children in grade 3 or younger, or
- State Board of Education–approved Human Services Program Certificate with a focus on child development or early childhood education plus at least 12 months of experience with children in grade 3 or younger, or
- Fundamentals for Early Childhood Professionals course or the Vermont After school Essentials Certificate plus at least 12 months of experience with children in grade 3 or younger.
