Job Description

Colchester High School is seeking a Drama (Musical) Accompanist.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the CHS Drama Director to ensure the success of the Fall Production
  • Play piano and teach vocal parts of the selected musical to the CHS cast
  • Develop a positive rapport and working relationship with students and families
  • Collaborate with the CHS Band Director and students for the pit
  • Play/Conduct band for all performances – show dates are November 13‑15, 2026
  • Make minimal adjustments to score based on needs of the show
  • Be available for after‑school rehearsals:
    Monday‑Friday 2:30‑5:00 with some weekend rehearsals 12:00‑3:00 in late October/early November (exact schedule TBD, specifics will be coordinated with Accompanist, Drama Director, and Band Director). Student Auditions will be held September 10th and 11th with regular rehearsals beginning the following week.
  • Assume other responsibilities as defined by the Superintendent and/or other district administrators
  • Exhibit commitment to School District’s Vision Plan
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills including the ability to communicate courteously, efficiently, effectively and respond to questions from a variety of individuals, including faculty, staff, administrators, co‑workers, community members, and representatives of outside organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion and independent judgment
  • Ability to interpret and apply a variety of instructions/policies/procedures/practices furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of a team
Tools/Technology Requirements
  • Create simple rehearsal tracks for songs and dances
Desired Qualifications

The ability to motivate and interact positively and productively with high school students.

Salary: $2,524 to $3,205 Stipend
