Imagine being handed the keys to your dream car and the chance for your ultimate driving experience. Well in this case it is an incredibly skilled team of developers waiting for your command to begin the creative process.

Do you see problems others miss and envision a way that elegant software solutions could make life so much easier?

At Ivy Computer, we’re looking for a Designer Product Architect who can identify the invisible friction points in different blue‑collar industries and translate them into intuitive, scalable software. This role blends thoughtful design, product vision, and clear communication. You’ll collaborate with developers, senior leadership, and fellow designers to shape the future of our products from conception to implementation.

About Ivy Computer

Ivy Computer is one of Vermont’s fastest-growing technology companies, building software for waste management and other blue‑collar industries. Our products support thousands of haulers across North America by simplifying routing, billing, payments, inventory and operations. We’re a relaxed, dog‑friendly, collaborative team looking for talented people who are interested in putting down roots in Central Vermont.

What You’ll Do
  • Analyze workflows, interview stakeholders, and clearly document user and business needs
  • Identify inefficiencies and translate them into clear product ideas
  • Break complex challenges into clear, solvable components
  • Define product guidelines, prioritize work, and support road mapping.
  • Create clear functional specs and user stories tailored to developer experience
  • Serve as a bridge between engineering, design, and leadership
  • Turn customer pain points into actionable product requirements
  • Support organized development and release processes that contribute to company profitability
What we’re looking for
  • Experience in software design, product architecture or technical product management
  • Experience applying software solutions to the challenges found in blue‑collar industries
  • Strong analytical thinking and communication skills
  • Comfort collaborating with developers across a range of experience levels
  • A passion for teaching, mentoring, and collaborative design
  • Most importantly, you must work and play well with others.

How to Apply

If you are interested in joining our team, please submit a cover letter and resume. Tell us what excites you about this role, how you approach design problems, and what you’ve built or shaped that you’re proud of.

Why do we want a cover letter? Don't worry, we're not after a robotic cover letter repeating what's on your resume. Share what makes you, well, you! What unique things do you bring to the table? Where are you hoping to take your career and how does Ivy fit into that picture? What drives you? Surprise us with the stuff that doesn't quite fit on a standard resume.
