Mt. Ascutney Hospital is seeking a full‑time physician hospitalist (MD or DO) to join our Hospital Medicine Team!
Applicants must be board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine but Family Medicine certified physicians with hospitalist experience are also welcome to apply. Candidates for this position must demonstrate excellent clinical and interpersonal skills, have interest or experience in rural healthcare, and are able to work effectively in an interdisciplinary setting. Recent graduates and career hospitalists are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities- Working in tandem with an advanced practice provider
- Rounding within the medical‑surgical unit
- Managing ED admissions
- Triaging outside transfer requests
- Responding to medical emergencies
- Maintaining ACLS credentialing
- Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine (Family Medicine certified physicians with hospitalist experience also welcome)
- Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills
- Interest or experience in rural healthcare
- Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary setting
- Recent graduates and career hospitalists encouraged to apply
Mt. Ascutney Hospital is a critical access hospital located in Windsor, Vermont, and a member of the Dartmouth‑Hitchcock Health System. The hospital features 25 inpatient medical‑surgical beds and a renowned 10‑bed inpatient rehabilitation unit. There is no ICU or step‑down unit, and procedures or ventilation management are not required.
Located in the beautiful Upper Valley between the Green and White Mountains, the hospital is just two hours from Boston, MA, and Burlington, VT. The area offers lakes, cycling, skiing, hiking, and unique shopping experiences.
