Vermont State University invites eligible students to apply their Federal Work-Study earnings toward meaningful, community-based employment with off-campus nonprofit organizations, municipalities, literacy programs, and educational institutions. This program supports students in gaining valuable, real-world experience while contributing to the public good. Opportunities may include tutoring, community outreach, administrative support, educational programming, or other service-oriented roles that align with the mission of the host agency and benefit local communities.
For credit internships, field placement, and other academic experiential learning opportunities which meet these criteria and are approved by VTSU Career Development may also be eligible to apply Federal Work-Study earnings. Students will develop professional skills, build connections, and make a tangible impact through their service.
* Application of funds and approval are contingent upon acceptance at specified external organizations, internal supervisory approval by Career Development, and Federal Work-Study eligibility. Off campus locations are determined by arrangement with VTSU supervisor.
