The Kingdom East School District, Student Services, is seeking an Intensive Instructional Assistant (IIA) assigned to work at the Concord School in classrooms ranging from kindergarten to middle school. The candidate must be energetic and love working with children. The IIA position's purpose is to develop and interpret individual needs of our students in the classrooms or support students with special needs by helping to create and implement behavior and/or instructional support programs in consultation with the grade level special educator and classroom teacher.
Candidates must successfully complete the Para Pro assessment or have an associate’s or higher degree. The IIA provides observable student data that meet the IEP program goals of students with developmental delay and/or other special needs. The position will target goal‑directive services to assist students in accessing instruction in a developmentally appropriate, functional, and independent manner. Background check, including fingerprinting, is required upon employment.
The pay range for this position is currently $19.95/hr – $25.80/hr.
The Concord School is part of the Kingdom East School District, located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students. Our high school students have “choice” and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools – Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy – or another high school of their choosing.
We are located about 3 hours from Montreal, Boston and Portland, ME. Our region is known for breathtaking views and access to great skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing and other outdoor opportunities.
