- Become familiar with various majors and career paths and the technology and resources offered in Career Development which support greater exploration and discovery in these areas.
- Conduct research on industries, job trends, and emerging careers to provide up‑to‑date information to students.
- Provide recommendations and feedback to career team pertaining to relevant and timely communication strategies with students and other populations.
- Networking Opportunities and Support:
- Organize networking events, workshops, and panels to connect students with professionals in various fields.
- Provide guidance and feedback on networking strategies, including utilizing Linked In and other social media platforms effectively.
- Employer Connections:
- Be willing to support relationships with employers alongside a career team member to create and promote internship and job opportunities for students.
- Support employer visit coordination, information sessions, and recruitment events on campus.
- Job & Internship Searching:
- Assist students with utilizing online job boards and networking techniques.
- Provide resources and support for students seeking internships, co‑ops, on‑campus student employment and part‑time employment opportunities.
- Help promote internship and job opportunities through the Career Development resource page, on Handshake, and using other communication strategies.
- Career Fair Preparation:
- Support and coordinate career fair workshops and preparation sessions to help students make the most out of career fairs.
- Assist with logistics and promotion of career fairs and related events
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program.
- Professional demeanor and dress, a willingness to learn and be innovative.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated interest in career development and helping others achieve their professional goals.
- Experience with networking, event planning, or public speaking is a plus.
- Familiarity with career services resources and tools preferred.
