Otter Valley is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and collaborative HS Math Teacher to begin with the 2026-27 school year. The candidate should possess the ability to deliver differentiated instruction using varied and experiential methods to engage students.
Job Responsibilities- implement standards-aligned units of study and engaging lessons
- use content-specific pedagogical techniques to engage learners
- use assessment to inform instruction throughout the learning process
- create positive classroom cultures focused on relationships, inclusive practices, and reciprocal trust
- collaborate effectively with colleagues to improve teaching methods and ensure support is in place for all students.
- connect content standards and practice standards in lesson and unit development
- design standards-aligned assessments and lessons, and use formative assessment data to adjust lessons
- serve as an advisor
- Values the importance of the student-teacher relationship as both the educator and advisor.
- Maintains strong communication skills. (Teacher to student, parent, administrator, and other professionals involved in a student’s educational goals.)
- It is desirable that the successful candidate will be able to teach a variety of math courses from Transitional Math to Calculus
- Must be eligible or possess Vermont State Professional License with appropriate endorsement to teach Grades 7-12 Math
- Background in Mathematics
