Early Childhood Teacher
Lake Champlain Waldorf School is seeking a lead Early Childhood teacher for the 2026-27 school year. We are looking for a dedicated and passionate educator to join our vibrant Early Childhood branch and lead a class of 14 children, along with an assistant. The selected candidate will join a collaborative, cohesive, and inspired group of teachers in our Early Childhood program.
At LCWS, lead Early Childhood teachers work closely with their assistant teachers to deliver a rich Waldorf curriculum to their class. This position will lead a class of 3.5-6 year olds and would be responsible for developing curriculum, including circle and stories throughout the year, as well as bringing preliteracy, literacy and numeracy work into the classroom in a natural and organic manner.
All new teachers at LCWS receive mentorship and work closely with their branch coordinator and the Head of School.
Our well-established K-12 school is both grounded and innovative; we are deeply rooted in the traditional Waldorf curriculum while also reaching into the future through an educational emphasis on social, racial, and environmental justice. We offer a vibrant learning community on two campuses in northwestern Vermont (more about the area below). The Early Childhood campus (K-6) is surrounded by Nature Conservancy forest and our Early Childhood classes are outside daily engaging with the natural world.
We are a close, collaborative, and dedicated group of class teachers, subject teachers, and administrators, working to develop new models of instruction that serve the students of the 21st century. We are dedicated to supporting and promoting the qualities at the heart of our mission: creativity, compassion, inclusivity and innovative problem-solving.
