Wolcott Town School District is seeking a dynamic Library Media Specialist for the school year. The Library Media Specialist works collaboratively with school administration and staff to develop a library program that supports curriculum, provides instructional leadership for literacy and technology skills, integrates technology-use education to enhance experiences and teach 21st‑century skills, teaches Information Literacy & Digital Citizenship, develops and maintains a media center collection rich in both print and non‑print materials, and manages the media center as a flexible, multi‑task learning environment.
ResponsibilitiesManage the day‑to‑day operations of the school library.
Apply standard library procedures to research, develop, acquire, organize, maintain, and make available a balanced and diverse collection of current information.
Collaborate with all staff to provide expertise in the selection, acquisition, evaluation, and organization of information resources and technologies in all formats, ensuring equitable and ethical use of information.
Teach students to follow an inquiry process by asking questions, evaluating and collecting information from multiple sources to construct understanding, encouraging critical thinking, and ensuring flexible and equitable access to resources that support the student’s academic and personal learning needs.
Work as part of the Teachers' Collective Bargaining Unit; the position has an FTE of 0.60. All benefits offered to full‑time teachers are available at a prorated amount.

- This position requires a Vermont Agency of Education license 61:
School Librarian, Grades K‑6. Applicants who can transfer an out‑of‑state license in this endorsement are eligible. Applicants who are eligible for a temporary license will also be considered. Attendance at the 3‑day New Staff Orientation starting August 17, 20026 is required. The successful applicant must have the ability to pass a full background check. - At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
