The new Global Citizenship Teacher will implement a proficiency-based approach to teaching grades 9‑12 Global Citizenship, which includes Global Studies and US History. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in the social sciences that can be translated into future elective options for the department, such as Psychology, Criminal Justice, Economics, U.S. Government, etc.
The Global Citizenship Teacher will also be assigned to work with students in Advisory Groups and Independent Study courses. Candidates interested in coaching and/or sponsoring co‑curricular activities, including clubs, will receive additional attention.
Education and/or experience: A Vermont‑certified History/Social Studies teacher holding a Bachelor’s degree with 3 or more years of related experience.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced team environment.
- Demonstrated experience with virtual instruction, especially use of the Google Suite.
- Understanding how to support the Vermont Flexible Pathways Initiative, created by Act 77.
- Deliver dynamic and engaging lessons to advance the learning and success of all students.
- Develop a curriculum that follows and assesses the WRVSU Learning Expectations.
- Guide further development of personalized learning plans and passage presentations, blending proficiency, purpose, and engagement.
- Facilitate and monitor independent and guided learning experiences to engage students interested in alternate pathways to learning and graduation.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the administration.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
