Summer Credit Recovery Instructor
Position Summary:
The Credit Recovery Instructor supports students in the Summer Credit Recovery Program. This short-term program aims to help students recover academic credit(s) to be on track for graduation and academic success. Instructors will deliver targeted instruction, monitor student progress, and provide individualized academic support.
- Provide individualized instruction and academic support in various subject areas (math, English, science, social studies) to help students achieve proficiency.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and interventions as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, participation, and performance.
- Maintain regular communication with students, parents and faculty regarding student progress and serve as a liaison between families/caregivers for scheduling purposes.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Vermont teaching certification required; content area endorsement in math or ELA preferred
- One year or more experience as a teacher required
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Regular and punctual attendance
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and move throughout the school environment to support and supervise students. Must be able to bend and reach as needed, and lift or carry instructional materials and supplies (up to 15 pounds). Requires the ability to operate standard classroom and office equipment, including computers and audiovisual technology, as well as sufficient visual, hearing, and speaking abilities to communicate effectively and monitor student activity.
Must be able to respond appropriately to student behaviors and emergency situations in accordance with district protocols.
- At least 2 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
