The Hazen Union School District and the Craftsbury Town School Districts are teaming up to hire a student and safety-focused individual as a part-time instructor for Driver's Education. The instructor will provide students with at least the minimum performance capabilities for entry into the traffic system as motor vehicle drivers. Equip students with the knowledge and thought processes that will enable them to make rational decisions in traffic.

Produce drivers who are responsible, as well as competent. This is a part-time position from late August through June that falls under the Master Agreement for OSSU teachers.

The geographic location of the Orleans Southwest Supervisory Union (OSSU) is often referred to as the ‘Gateway to the Northeast Kingdom.’ OSSU serves about 1,100 students PK-12 across six towns in four counties, totaling approximately 6,900 residents.

Hazen Union School is a public school with 300 students in grades 7-12. Hazen Union has a diverse membership, with approximately 70% of students receiving free or reduced lunch. Hazen Union offers challenging academics and enriching co-curricular programs. Craftsbury Schools (aka Craftsbury Academy) has been in existence since 1832. The school has seen many changes and renovations over our almost 200-year history, but what has remained the same is our sense of community within the school and town.

Craftsbury Schools serves around 200 students in grades PreK-12 on two campuses.

• A Vermont AOE 2-30 licensure OR an individual with Vermont state certification as a private driver's education instructor with appropriate credentials. A full background check is required. Attendance at the 3-day New Staff Orientation starting on August 17, 2026 is required.
• At least 4 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
