Samuel Morey Elementary School seeks a caring and knowledgeable PreK Special Education Para educator to support instruction in basic pre‑academic skills in reading, writing, and math, as well as support in age‑appropriate social, emotional, and behavioral skill development. This position serves disabled students ages 3‑5 years.
Part‑time position 5 days/week (Monday‑Friday) following the school calendar, 8:00‑11:30 AM.
The PreK Special Education Para educator must have a high level of patience, empathy, and positivity for working with students with any type of disability. The para educator must work collaboratively with staff and administration on behalf of students. The PreK Special Education Para educator must work effectively as a member of a team, and demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills. Organizational skills are essential.
Job Requirements- Associate degree or high school diploma with a passing score on the Para Pro Assessment required.
- High School/Trade School degree preferred.
