Introducing and reinforcing letter recognition, phonics, numbers, basic math concepts, and early literacy skills.
Practice Skills and ConceptsUtilizing various learning modes, such as hands‑on approaches and low‑floor, high‑ceiling tasks.
Professional KnowledgeFamiliarity with UFLI, Orton Gillingham, All Learners Network, Bookworms, and Illustrative would be beneficial.
Assessment and ObservationRegularly observe student progress, evaluate their performance through various assessments, and adjust the curriculum accordingly. Regular communication with parents and administration regarding progress monitoring and social‑emotional developments is required.
Classroom ManagementMaintaining a safe and organized classroom environment, establishing clear expectations for behavior, and enforcing expectations to ensure a positive learning atmosphere. Familiarity with Responsive Classroom and PBIS would be beneficial.
Communication and CollaborationCommunicating regularly with parents about their child's progress, collaborating with other teachers and staff members, and participating in professional development opportunities.
Creating a Positive Learning EnvironmentFostering a love of learning, nurturing social and emotional development, and promoting positive student relationships through the use of the above‑mentioned values.
Requited QualificationsCertificates, Licenses, Registrations. Holds or is eligible to hold a Vermont Teaching License. Holds the appropriate endorsement(s) and meets all the basic competencies and qualifications of the endorsement(s) as listed in the Regulations Governing the Licensing of Educators and the Preparation of Educational Professionals.

SupervisionSupervising students during lunchtime, recess, and other activities outside the classroom.
This is a 1.0 FTE for the 2026‑2027 school year.
