The position follows the school calendar with a 178‑day work schedule that aligns with student days. Responsibilities include preparing and cooking large quantities of meals in the school cafeteria setting, complying with food safety protocols and the weekly menu. Tasks involve cutting or processing raw foods, preparing daily entrees, serving meals as needed, maintaining cleanliness of food preparation areas, facilities, and equipment, and cleaning tableware and large‑scale cooking equipment.
CompensationThis position currently pays between $18.72 and $28.22 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Compensation is determined by the district’s collective bargaining agreement, considering factors such as degree level and years of service. The 26‑27 school year collective bargaining agreement has not yet been ratified; compensation amounts are pending.
Qualifications- Prior experience with commercial cooking equipment is beneficial.
- Confidence in cooking yields, standardized recipes, and inventory control.
- Willingness to obtain Serve‑Safe certification (required).
- Will work closely with the school Food Service Director.
The successful candidate will overlap with current staff during May and early June for training.
