Job DescriptionBrowns River Middle School is seeking a certified teacher to provide science instruction for 7th and 8th grades. The school serves approximately 300 students in grades 5–8 and employs a team‑based model with two core teachers per team. Instruction incorporates differentiated strategies and collaborative planning with special educators in all Math and ELA courses. Co‑teaching is an integral part of our approach.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate an understanding of, or have experience with, MTSS and UDL.
- Apply knowledge of the NGSS to design science instruction.
- Work within a proficiency‑based learning environment.
- Collaborate effectively with team colleagues, special educators, and instructional coaches.
- Implement inclusive and equitable teaching practices and use a variety of instructional techniques.
- Build strong, positive relationships with students and colleagues.
- Plan instruction that meets middle‑school academic standards.
- Use data and formative assessment to inform instruction.
- Organize classroom spaces, systems, and procedures to maintain a socially and emotionally safe learning environment.
- Certified teacher, preferably at the 7th/8th grade level.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
