Expand your impact as a Special Education Teacher by providing meaningful support to students with diverse needs in self-contained classroom settings. This rewarding contract opportunity offers positions at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, each designed to create a positive environment for students to thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.
Positions include:
- Elementary Autism Classroom (K-5):
Work with up to 6 students in a self-contained environment, designing individualized instruction and interventions tailored to each child's needs. - Middle School Therapeutic Kids Classroom (Grades 6-8):
Support up to 10 students, many of whom have experienced trauma, fostering growth and resilience in a self-contained setting. - High School Therapeutic Kids Classroom (Grades 9-12):
Guide a maximum of 12 students with trauma backgrounds, equipping them with skills necessary for ongoing success in a nurturing, self-contained class.
Qualifications:
- Valid credentials as a Special Education Teacher.
- Demonstrated experience with children who have autism or trauma-related backgrounds.
- Deep understanding of specialized instructional strategies and classroom management.
- Compassionate communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments where every student can achieve.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Adapt curriculum and instruction for varying ability levels.
- Create a structured, safe classroom climate that encourages learning and emotional growth.
- Monitor student progress and collaborate with staff to provide holistic support.
- Effectively document interventions and outcomes.
