The Champlain Islands Unified Union School District (CIUUSD) is seeking passionate, collaborative elementary educators to join our learning community for the 2026–2027 school year and beyond.

Successful candidates will work collaboratively with colleagues, interventionists, special educators, unified arts teachers, families, and community partners to create engaging and inclusive learning environments where all students can thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally.
About CIUUSD: CIUUSD serves students and families in the Champlain Islands region of Vermont. Our district operates one PreK–6 campus serving approximately 190 students. Students in grades 7–12 participate in Vermont’s school choice system and attend a middle/high school that best fits their needs.
Our schools are known for small class sizes and personalized learning, strong family and community partnerships, collaborative staff culture, place-based and experiential learning opportunities, belonging and wellness focus, MTSS and inclusive practices. We are located within driving distance to Burlington, St. Albans, Plattsburgh, Montreal, and Boston, with access to outdoor recreation and cultural amenities.
Position Responsibilities- Deliver engaging instruction aligned to grade-level standards and learning targets
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs
- Utilize data to inform instruction and intervention
- Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to support all learners
- Implement instructional practices grounded in student engagement and best practice
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
- Support students in developing independence, problem-solving skills, and positive social behaviors
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and professional learning
- Contribute positively to the school culture
- Other duties as assigned
- Vermont Educator License (or eligibility)
- Appropriate elementary endorsement(s)
- Bachelor degree preferred
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Flexibility, creativity, and a growth mindset
- Experience with differentiated instruction and inclusive practices
- Knowledge of MTSS, SEL, and trauma-informed practices
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team

Salary Range: $50,000 - $93,200
