Educational Assistant for Special Education (Part time and Full Time positions)
Mount Abraham Unified School District is looking for an educational assistant for special education to join our team at Monkton Central School. The educational assistant will provide academic and behavioral support to students with an individualized education program under the direction of a professional staff member.
Responsibilities- Communication facilitation with students, parents, staff, and the community.
- Carrying out programs designed by the teaching staff.
- Managing behavior and teaching self‑regulation skills.
- Supporting and facilitating social engagement with peers.
- Physical responsibilities including lifting, carrying, providing personal care, and assessing situations to respond quickly.
- Position 1: 0.4 FTE, 5 days a week, mornings only.
- Position 2: 1.0 FTE, 5 days a week.
- Salary: $23 to $28 per hour.
- Starting Date: July 1, 2026.

Job Requirements- Associate degree or highly qualified paraprofessional certification.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to follow administrative guidelines, work independently and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with students, parents, staff, and members of the community.
- Ability to utilize software applications applicable to school operations and activities.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
- Associate degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
