Job Description

Brookfield Elementary School in the Orange Southwest School District is seeking candidates for our Special Education position at the elementary level. Brookfield is a small school of fewer than 100 students with a wonderful staff. We are looking for individuals that are innovative, energetic, and eager to learn/grow to work with our students and dynamic teachers. The OSSD invests in its educators and provides mentoring, professional development, and course opportunities.

Candidates with a depth of knowledge in literacy, numeracy, intervention strategies, assessment practices, and progress monitoring using student data to inform instruction are preferred, but not required. Experience with special education evaluations, IEP development, and special education law are also preferred, but not required. This position focuses on providing direct services to students and is part of a team committed to multi‑tiered systems of support and building a welcoming school‑wide learning community where all children experience positive advancement toward fulfilling their individual potential.

Small caseloads (approximately 10) and a very supportive work environment exist.
