Long Term Social Studies Substitute – High School

Starting Date: Aug 19, 2026

Long Trail School seeks a dedicated, student‑focused social studies teacher to serve as a long‑term substitute for the 2026‑27 school year, from August 19 2026 to October 29 2026. The candidate will teach U.S. and World History to high school students, engaging them with varied instructional methods and supporting their developmental needs.

• Teach assigned social studies courses according to the curriculum and lesson plans.
• Create student‑centered lessons that differentiate for multiple learning styles and abilities.
• Communicate clear academic and behavioral expectations to students and families.
• Collaborate with other faculty to enrich the learning community.
• Participate in school events such as athletics, arts, clubs, and community trips.

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in History, Education, or related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience teaching high school students.
• Experience with differentiated instruction and inclusive classroom practices.
• Strong communication skills with students, families, and colleagues.
