Qualifications/Desired
Experience:
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (national/state credentials as required)
- Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Previous experience in an educational setting, strongly preferred
- Capability to interpret accurately for students, staff, and families
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to new environments
- Deliver accurate classroom and school-based interpretation services
- Facilitate effective communication between Deaf/hard of hearing students and school staff
- Support IEP processes and documentation as needed
- Collaborate with educational professionals to enhance student participation
- Serve as a role model and advocate for students' language access
