Job Title: Instructional Specialist
Reports To: Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment
Job Summary: SU-wide instructional specialist will provide direct classroom support by modeling evidence-based teaching strategies and facilitating peer‑coaching to build educator capacity; collaborate with teachers and leaders to design, evaluate, and align curricula to state or national education standards; analyze student assessment data to identify learning gaps and guide targeted instructional adjustments; assess staff professional development needs that strengthen instructional practices.
Responsibilities- Provide rotating site-based support for instruction, assessment, and coordination at schools within our supervisory union.
- Provide coaching to teachers to enhance instructional practices and student outcomes.
- Partner with school principals to translate SU goals into actionable classroom practices.
- Observe classrooms, provide actionable feedback, and model effective teaching.
- Align learning goals, instruction, and assessment.
- Support the continual use of the Multi‑Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework to address students’ academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional needs.
- Support the scheduling and design of double dosing and the use of WINN time based on student data.
- Support teachers in using data to set classroom instructional goals and individual student WIGs.
- Support the continual implementation and integration of Leader in Me in the classrooms.
- Facilitate and support the implementation of the proficiency‑based system.
- Meet with teacher teams on an ongoing basis either during shared planning block or after school time to continue proficiency work.
- Participate in SU‑level ITL and interventionist meetings.
- Master’s degree in education or a related field.
- Curriculum and instructional leadership experience.
- Experience in instructional coaching, MTSS coordination, data analysis, and program oversight.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with assessment protocols and data‑driven instructional strategies.
- Strong leadership and team‑building abilities.
- Expertise in data analysis and its application to instruction.
- Effective problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Commitment to equity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to balance multiple responsibilities with attention to detail and follow‑through.

Job Requirements- At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
