Job DescriptionThe Kingdom East School District seeks a middle school science teacher to join our Lyndon Town School teaching team. We seek a creative, passionate teacher who loves both science and working with middle school students. Candidates must be dynamic, high quality science teachers interested in joining a high energy PLC school and possess a commitment to instructing students within a middle school model.
Building strong relationships with students is a priority along with a sense of humor and genuine love for working with young people. The individual will be part of a grade level team including a special educator and humanities and mathematics teachers. The district provides mentorship and a supportive administration. This is a perfect position for a natural scientist‑outdoors person who enjoys the rural life in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
The pay range for this position is $46,267-$89,467.
Lyndon Town School strives to offer a highly collaborative, student-centered learning environment which allows plenty of opportunity for outdoor and experiential education, project based learning, and a development of a sense of place. Experience with Responsive Classroom, and PBIS is beneficial, but not necessary.
The Kingdom East School District is located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven preK-8th grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students. Our high school students have “choice” and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools -- Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy -- or another high school of their choosing.
We are located about 3 hours from Montreal, Boston and Portland, ME. Our region is known for breathtaking views and access to great skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing and other outdoor opportunities. We are close to the White Mountains and the Green Mountains. Both Littleton, NH and St. Johnsbury, VT have numerous fine and performing arts venues. Our communities attract wholesome families, faculty and staff.
