Champlain Valley Union High School is looking for a Math Teacher who will help create a welcoming, friendly, and efficient environment within the mathematics department. In this role, you will work with the principal and staff to support the smooth functioning of the academic program each day.
As a teacher, you will maintain a positive and helpful demeanor while ensuring students are supported and monitored during instructional time.
Primary Responsibilities- Instruct a range of mathematics coursework from introductory high school math through advanced levels including calculus and statistics.
- Plan, instruct, and assess a proficiency-based math curriculum for high school students.
- Differentially instruct learners with varying abilities to ensure all students are supported.
- Effectively communicate observations and suggestions for continuous systems and school improvement.
- Carry out school policies and procedures with high levels of confidentiality.
- A Vermont Professional Educator’s license with an endorsement for secondary math.
- The ability to establish friendly and professional rapport with students, staff, and families.
- Proficiency with educational technology; experience or licensure in computer science/programming is highly desirable.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a flexible, creative approach to problem‑solving.
- Demonstrated poise and patience when dealing with the public or difficult situations.
- The ability to work independently as a self‑starter and prioritize tasks under pressure.
