Job DescriptionTwo Rivers Supervisory Union is looking for a dynamic teacher in special education to work at our Cavendish Town Elementary School for the school year. This is a full‑time position, five days per week. The special educator will work with a small multidisciplinary team of professionals to meet the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students. The candidate will also provide specialized instruction, consultation, and academic interventions for students.
Applicants should have a working understanding of and alignment with the concepts of Social Thinking, trauma‑informed classrooms, and Multi‑Tiered Systems of Support.
- Provide individual and small‑group instruction for identified students.
- Maintain records on progress of students to identify difficulties, track progress, and justify treatment.
- Possess a working knowledge of Special Education Law, writing individualized plans, adapting curriculum, and inclusionary practices.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with teachers, special educators, related service providers, and families to develop and implement individual or group programs.
- Must hold or be eligible to receive certification as a special educator in Vermont. A master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
- A fingerprint‑supported background check is required.
Position Type: Full‑time
Salary: $50,140 to $95,940 Per Year
