Job Description

The Mount Abraham Unified School District is looking for an educational assistant for special education to join our team at Monkton Central School. The educational assistant will provide academic and behavioral support to students with an individualized education program under the direction of a professional staff member.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate communication among students, teachers, and parents.
  • Carry out programs designed by teaching staff.
  • Manage behavior and provide support for self‑regulation skills.
  • Assist with personal care, lifting, carrying, and respond quickly to situations.
  • Support and facilitate social engagement with peers.

Qualifications
  • Must have an associate degree or highly qualified paraprofessional certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience (preferred).
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to follow administrative guidelines, work independently, and meet deadlines.
