Position SummaryAs a vital member of the Orange East Supervisory Union (OESU) leadership team, the Principal provides strategic instructional leadership, operational management, and community oversight for Newbury Elementary School. The primary focus is to champion student achievement and growth while cultivating a safe, healthy, and positive school climate for all students and staff.
Performance Responsibilities- Instructional Leadership:
Driving equitable, high‑quality curriculum and student achievement. - Culture and Climate:
Fostering a supportive, safe, and positive school environment. - Communication &
Collaboration:
Cultivating strong partnerships with families, the community, and OESU leadership. - Supervision & Professional Growth:
Evaluating, mentoring, and supporting faculty and staff. - Operations & Budgeting:
Overseeing sound fiscal management and daily building operations.
- Minimum:
At least 3 years of successful licensed teaching experience. - Desirable: 3 years of building‑level administrative experience.
- Preferred:
Demonstrated leadership in an academic environment. - Successful performance in current or prior positions relevant to the role.
- Equivalent experience shall be considered.
- Education:
Earned Master’s degree from an accredited college or university. - Licenses &
Certifications:
Vermont Educators license with School Principal endorsement (or ability to obtain). - Valid Driver’s License.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
Competitive salary ranging from $95,000 to $120,000 per year, based upon experience, plus a benefits package.
