Job DescriptionWorld Language Teacher (French/Spanish). Killington Mountain School (KMS) seeks an innovative educator to join a community united by shared passions and a competitive spirit. For over 50 years, KMS has supported student‑athletes in achieving excellence both on the slopes and in the classroom. The mission is to provide a dynamic, individualized program where students learn to face challenges with courage and grace, grounded in our core values of Respect, Integrity, Leadership, Excellence, and Responsibility.
The primary focus of this position is instructing French and Spanish using a proficiency‑based, communicative approach. A secondary component involves supporting international students who are already proficient in English, helping them develop advanced academic English skills for high‑level coursework.
Academic schedules are seasonally modified to accommodate athletic training:
Fall/Spring: 8:00 am – 2:00 pm
Winter (Nov–April): 1:00 pm – 6:30 pm
Because athletes travel frequently for competition, the teacher must be tech‑savvy, ensuring continuity via distance‑learning infrastructure.
Ideal Candidate- Communicative Expert – prioritizes real‑world language use and academic discourse over rote memorization.
- Character‑Driven – fosters a community built on teamwork, mutual respect, and integrity.
- Differentiation Pro – skilled at adapting instruction for gifted learners, diverse learning profiles, and varying travel schedules.
- Perseverance – appreciates the grit and willpower required in a high‑performance environment.

- Optional dormitory supervisory roles with modest on‑campus housing may be available.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
