Hinesburg Community School (HCS) seeks a dynamic 0.6 FTE Spanish Teacher to join our K‑8 team starting FY27. This is a permanent position designed for an educator who loves helping students discover the joy of world language and global cultures.

We are looking for a professional who can motivate every student to cultivate an appreciation for learning a world language and the cultures of the peoples who speak them. Our ideal candidate ensures a safe and inclusive environment where students of all abilities develop a lifelong appreciation for linguistic and cultural diversity.

• Develop and implement a standards‑based curriculum centered on ACTFL national standards.
• Integrate world language instruction with other curricular areas and 21st‑century technology throughout the school day.
• Collaborate with special educators to integrate students with all abilities, ensuring all students have access to language learning.
• Foster a positive climate using strong classroom management and organizational skills to support K‑8 learners.
• Assess student progress based on national standards to guide instruction and growth.
• Maintain clear communication with staff, students, and families regarding program goals and student wellness.

• Current Vermont Licensure in K‑12 Spanish, with demonstrated fluency in reading, writing, and speaking.
• A collaborative spirit with flexibility to engage in team teaching and work across faculty teams.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to interface effectively—both in person and in writing—with the school community.
• A commitment to inclusivity, helping to develop an environment that represents and welcomes all students and families.
• Dependability and passion for helping students make healthy choices and global connections that last a lifetime.

• At least three years of relevant experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
