Williamstown Middle & High School seeks a School Counselor to join our grade 6‑12 community in central Vermont. WMHS is a place where students are known well, relationships matter, and staff work together to help students feel supported, connected, and prepared for life beyond graduation. Located in central Vermont, WMHS offers the opportunity to work in a close‑knit school community surrounded by scenic beauty, outdoor recreation, and easy access to Montpelier, Barre, and the broader Green Mountain region.
We are looking for a student‑centered counselor who can support the academic, personal/social, and college and career development of middle and high school students. Responsibilities include individual and small‑group counseling, classroom guidance, academic and course planning, student scheduling, post‑secondary planning, Section 504 Plan coordination, EST/MTSS participation, family communication, crisis response, and connection to school and community resources.
The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, sound judgment, confidentiality, flexibility, and a calm, supportive presence with students, families, and staff. Experience with adolescents, student support teams, career and college readiness, and supporting diverse learners is valued.
