Kindergarten Para educator
Woodstock Elementary School is seeking a high-energy, engaging Para educator to provide support in a kindergarten classroom for the 2026–2027 school year. We are looking for a flexible, collaborative team player who enjoys working with young children and helping them develop the skills and confidence needed for success in school.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting early learners as they build independence, develop social-emotional skills, and engage in meaningful learning experiences. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with classroom teachers and school staff in a positive, student-centered environment.
Essential Responsibilities- Support the classroom teacher in implementing instructional activities and daily routines.
- Assist students individually and in small groups with academic, social, and behavioral learning goals.
- Foster student independence and encourage positive problem-solving skills.
- Help create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support students during classroom transitions, recess, lunch, and other school activities as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, specialists, and other staff members.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the role.
- Experience working with young children preferred.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility, patience, and a collaborative mindset.
- Commitment to supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students.
- Ability to meet Vermont Agency of Education para educator requirements or willingness to do so.
