Job DescriptionTwo Rivers Supervisory Union is looking for a dynamic teacher in special education to work at our Chester Andover Elementary School for the school year. This is a full‑time position, 5 days per week. The special educator will work with a small multi‑disciplinary team of professionals to meet the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students.
The special educator will also provide specialized instruction, consultation, and academic interventions for students. Applicants should have a working understanding of and alignment with the concepts of Social Thinking, trauma‑informed classrooms, and Multi‑Tiered Systems of Support.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small group instruction for identified students.
- Maintain records on student progress to identify difficulties, track progress, and justify treatment.
- Possess a working knowledge of Special Education Law, write Individualized Plans, adapt curriculum, and use inclusionary practices.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with teachers, special educators, related service providers, and families to develop and implement individual or group programs.

- Salary: $50,140 to $95,940 Per Year
- The candidate must hold or be eligible to receive certification as a special educator in Vermont. A master’s degree is preferred. A fingerprint supported background check is required.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
