Job DescriptionChamplain Valley School District (CVSD) seeks an experienced and collaborative special educator to serve as the PreK-Grade 2 Lead Special Educator at Allen Brook School in Williston. This teacher‑leader position provides on‑site support to a small special education team while serving as a liaison between building staff and the Williston Schools special education administration.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong collaboration, communication, and problem‑solving skills and will be committed to building inclusive and equitable systems of support for our youngest learners.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide on‑site support and coordination for a small special education team.
- Collaborate weekly with building administration regarding special education programming, staffing, and student needs.
- Serve as the on‑site Local Education Agency (LEA) representative, when appropriate.
- Collect feedback from the special education team and advocate on behalf of the department with building administration.
- Act as a bridge between the school‑based special education team and the Williston Schools special education administrator to ensure consistent communication, implementation of procedures, and problem‑solving.
- Support a collaborative, inclusive, and student‑centered approach to special education services.
- Serve on the building based Educational Support Team (EST).
- Vermont Special Education Teaching Endorsement required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of special education teaching experience at the PreK-Grade 2 level.
- Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Commitment to equitable and inclusive practices and continuous improvement.

This is a part‑time stipend position based on qualifications and experience. The position is classified as a "categoryC activity" on our co‑curricular contract, with compensation based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
