Job DescriptionEssex Westford School District (EWSD) has opportunities for dedicated full-time Behavioral Interventionists to become part of our Elementary Therapeutic Classroom team beginning in the school year. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a highly collaborative environment where staff work closely together to support a group of students with diverse behavioral and social-emotional needs.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to apply and expand your skills across multiple students with varying profiles, needs, and strengths. Rather than working in isolation, you’ll build a broad toolkit by supporting different learners throughout the day—making this an ideal position for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and meaningful challenges. Each day brings something new, and you’ll be continuously growing as a practitioner while making a real impact.
This is a program where you’ll be challenged in the best way, supported every step of the way, and given the opportunity to grow your skills in a collaborative, energizing environment. If you are adaptable, collaborative, and excited by both challenge and growth, we would love to have you join us.
Pay: $26.21+ based on experience
We also offer Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training as a benefit.
EWSD offers excellent benefits including generous paid time off, medical and dental insurance, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, and a retirement plan with up to 6% employer contribution.
Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply
:
- 1 to 2 years of directly related experience or training.
- Ability to implement behavioral modification plans, provide crisis intervention, and manage aggressive behaviors.
- Ability to use adaptive technology.
- Dedication to providing a safe and respectful learning environment for all students.
- Willingness and ability to be trained in restrictive behavioral intervention.
- Ability to read and interpret educational plans and behavioral data documents.
- Ability to attend an evening course on direct instruction and after-school training sessions.
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, mental health, education, or other appropriate disciplines is preferred but not required.

Candidates with experience living or working in another country, the ability to fluently speak more than one language, and/or peace corp experience are encouraged to apply.
EWSD conducts thorough screenings of all applicants being recommended for hire, which may include contacting references not listed on your application.
