Job DescriptionProctor Elementary School is seeking a collaborative and enthusiastic K-6 classroom teacher to join our community from October 2026 through December 2026. The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
- Knowledge of elementary research‑based best practices including the Science of Reading
- Knowledge of MTSS and layered instructional practices, including data collection
- Knowledge of small group instructional practice using layered instructional practices
- Knowledge of effective literacy practices, including the Orton‑Gillingham approach for intermediate elementary students
- Knowledge of proficiency‑based grading practices
- Knowledge of the Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards with delineation between GRCSU priority and secondary standards
- Evidence of integrating technology into the learning environment beyond Supervisory Union agreed upon programming
- Knowledge of best practices regarding student management protocols
- Knowledge of formative and summative curricular assessments and use of data to inform instruction
- Knowledge of best practices to support student social‑emotional needs including regulation, restorative, and proactive approaches
- Evidence of strong connection with students and families
- Strong communication skills as evidenced through a quality application
- Licensed or eligible for Vermont Educators License
Salary Range: $45,690–$93,665 per diem.
