Middletown Springs Elementary School, a PreK-6 school, is seeking a collaborative and enthusiastic guidance counselor to join our school community beginning the 2026‑2027 school year. The candidate will:

• Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and staff.
• Work as a team with special educators, interventionists, teachers, and administration to support students in need.
• Implement effective interventions to support students with coping strategies, peer relationships, communication, problem‑solving, decision‑making, conflict resolution, study skills, career awareness, substance education, and multicultural awareness.
• Provide individual and small group counseling addressing self‑image, self‑esteem, personal adjustment, family issues, interpersonal concerns, academic development, behavior modification, peer facilitation, and peer mediation.
• Conduct assessments to help students identify skills, abilities, achievements, and interests, and interpret standardized tests.
• Deliver push‑in SEL lessons and counsel students daily and weekly.
• Coordinate school, community, and business resources, school‑wide guidance‑related activities, and extracurricular programs that promote student growth and skill development.
• Coordinate CSP meetings and communicate with families through conferences, parent education workshops, and newsletters.
• Participate on school improvement and interdisciplinary teams.
• Discover and develop special abilities of students, assist with scheduling, and plan for VTCAP and other standardized tests along with various administrative duties.

• At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Bachelor degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
