Job DescriptionThe Mt. Abraham Unified School District is looking for an educational assistant for special education to join our team at Bristol Elementary School. The educational assistant will provide academic and behavioral support to students with an individualized education program under the direction of a certified teacher. Responsibilities include communication facilitation, carrying out programs designed by the teaching staff, managing behavior, teaching self‑regulation skills, and supporting and facilitating social engagement with peers.
Physical responsibilities may include lifting, carrying, personal care, and the ability to assess a situation and respond quickly.
The pay range is $23.87 – $28.64 based on education and experience. This position follows the school calendar.

Job Requirements- Associate degree required, or the ability to successfully complete the district provided Highly Qualified Paraprofessional (HQP) certification program within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to follow administrative guidelines, work independently and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with students, parents, staff, and members of the community.
- Ability to utilize software applications applicable to school operations and activities.
- At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
- Associate degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
