Lamoille Union Middle School is seeking a Special Educator to join our team. Candidates must have strong collaboration and communication skills, experience supervising paraprofessionals, and a strong focus on the team process. Applicants must be reliable, flexible, patient, energetic, willing to learn new skills, and passionate about working with and supporting students.

Candidates should have the ability to differentiate instruction for individual learners, develop and follow IEP plans and accommodations, and conduct special education evaluations. Knowledge of and experience with explicit literacy instruction is preferred. Knowledge of and understanding of the VT Special Education Rules is imperative. Qualified applicants should have experience at the elementary and/or middle school level, an understanding of standards-based instruction, and a belief that each student can meet high expectations.

The Lamoille Union Middle School is part of the Lamoille North Supervisory Union. It is located in Hyde Park, Vermont, on VT Route 15, 25 miles northeast of Burlington, 100 miles south of Montreal, and 15 miles from Stowe. The area affords four seasons of exceptional outdoor recreational opportunities as well as proximity to many events sponsored by area colleges.

LUMS has 274 students, 29 faculty, 1 assistant principal, and 15 support staff.

• Must hold or be eligible to hold a Vermont licensure with a Special Education endorsement.
