Consulting Special Education Supervisor

Job DescriptionThe Kingdom East School District seeks a full‑time Consulting Special Education Supervisor at Lyndon Town School. The role provides leadership, consultation, and administrative oversight to strengthen inclusive practices and support students with disabilities across all school settings. The successful candidate will collaborate with teachers, service providers, families, and administrators to ensure students receive the support they need to access and succeed within the general education community.
The salary range is $60,000 to $90,000 per year.
A primary focus is building staff capacity to support students with social‑emotional, behavioral, communication, and functional needs through Tier 1 classroom practices and a multi‑tiered system of support. The supervisor will partner with teachers and teams to develop proactive, inclusive, responsive learning environments that promote engagement, belonging, and success. This includes modeling instructional and behavioral practices, coaching staff, facilitating problem‑solving processes, and providing professional learning in behavior, social‑emotional learning, autism, executive functioning, and disability‑specific supports.
The supervisor will lead the development and coordination of layered supports for students with disabilities, ensuring that universal, targeted, and intensive interventions are aligned and responsive to student needs. The role includes analyzing data, identifying barriers to participation and learning, and designing systems that increase access to high‑quality instruction and meaningful inclusion.
Additional responsibilities include a combination of administrative leadership, supervision of special education and support staff, consultation, case management, and direct student support when appropriate. The position plays a key role in school‑based leadership and supports teams that strengthen collaboration among general education, special education, families, and community partners.
Job Requirements- Current Vermont AOE or Vermont OPR certification or licensure (or eligibility for one)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
