Paraspecialist Needed
Shelburne Community School (SCS) is seeking up to two full-time (2.00 FTE) energetic Paraspecialists to join our special education team starting the school year. We are looking for skilled, caring individuals to provide intensive 1:1 support in the areas of multi-layered curriculum, communication, and behavior across all school settings.
This position is vital to our mission of ensuring all students achieve grade-level expectations through specialized support and inclusive practices. The successful candidates will be strong advocates for student growth and positive contributors to our collaborative school community.
Primary Responsibilities
- Providing direct, intensive support for students in the areas of multi-layered curriculum or curriculum overlapping.
- Facilitating communication, behavioral support, and activities of daily living across various school settings.
- Directing, adjusting, or developing elements of student instructional and behavioral plans under the supervision of a licensed professional.
- Integrating instructional, behavioral, and communication interventions seamlessly into the classroom.
- Collecting, maintaining, and interpreting student data to track progress.
- Promoting child growth by fostering independence so that students can fully participate in school activities.
- Thriving within a teaming environment, working independently when needed while maintaining high levels of collaboration with school teams.
