6th Grade Teacher — Bennington-Rutland Supervisory Union Flood Brook School, Londonderry, Vermont
OverviewBennington-Rutland Supervisory Union is seeking a passionate, student-centered 6th Grade Teacher to inspire young learners and develop a strong academic and social-emotional foundation at Flood Brook School for the 2026/2027 school year. The teacher will create a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning. Instruction will cover the four core content areas, meeting diverse student needs while fostering independence, collaboration, and resilience.
Responsibilities- Deliver developmentally appropriate instruction in the four core content areas.
- Create an inclusive, welcoming classroom that supports exploration, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff to ensure every student thrives.
- Integrate social-emotional learning, community connections, and innovative teaching practices into daily instruction.
- Engage in data-informed planning and reflect on instructional practices to support equity and student growth.
- Bachelor degree in Elementary Education.
- Holds or is eligible to hold a Vermont Teaching License with endorsement in Elementary Education.
- Prior experience delivering elementary instruction or middle grades instruction across all four core content areas.
- Copies of transcripts and license(s) must be uploaded to the application for licensed positions; official transcripts may be required by Human Resources.
- Master's degree in Education.
- Participation in a state-approved Educator Preparation Program with licensure recommendation in Elementary Education.
- VT AOE Licensure in Elementary Education Grades K-6 is preferred; candidates licensed in all four Middle Grades content areas will be strongly considered.
- At least two years of public-school teaching experience in elementary instruction.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
- Annual salary range: $51,000 to $95,370, based on education level and years of experience.
