ATLAS is a specialized program serving students with significant social-emotional and behavioral needs. We are looking to add a member to our cohort of highly skilled, caring individuals with specific knowledge and expertise in the area of social-emotional learning and behavior.

The ATLAS Behavior Interventionist will provide 1:1 behavioral support and programming for individual and/or small groups of students with significant needs (including students with severe emotional disabilities). As a member of ATLAS, you will have access to high quality professional learning opportunities through a week-long summer institute and weekly program meetings throughout the school year.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Direct, adjust or develop elements of student instructional and behavioral plans.
  • Foster independence so that students can fully participate in school activities.
  • Collect, maintain, and interpret data.
  • Assist students physically as required and defined in student plans; this can include restrictive behavior interventions in accordance with established protocols.
  • Integrate instructional, behavioral and communication interventions into the classroom.
  • Participate in student team meetings with other professional staff.
  • Position may include supporting students on the bus to and from school as well as supporting students with personal care.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An understanding of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
  • The ability to build relationships and rapport with students and school teams.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in education or a related discipline (preferred).
  • A commitment to growth and a desire to gain experience in behavioral programming and therapeutic support within a school setting.

This is a great opportunity to work in one of the largest school districts in Vermont and become confident in the field of behavioral programming and therapeutic support within a school setting.

Please apply via School Spring with a letter of interest, resume, and three current letters of reference.
