Part-Time Faculty - Fall 2026 Semester
The School of STEM Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology of Vermont State University invites applications for part-time faculty for the Fall 2026 Semester (August 24 - December 18 2026) at an industry partner facility in Rutland, Vermont.
The course to be taught is MEC 1060 - Metrology & Inspection Techniques - WCED. It consists of 2 hours of lecture and 3 hours of lab per week for 4.01 credits. This course explores the fundamental concepts of modern dimensional metrology and related inspection techniques.

- statistics of metrology
- measurement with graduated scales and scaled instruments
- Vernier instruments
- micrometer instruments
- the development and use of gage blocks
- measurement by comparison and high-amplitude comparators
- pneumatic measurement
- calibration
The successful candidate will have a master’s degree, or bachelor’s degree plus several years of relevant experience. Teaching experience is preferred.
