Location: Woodstock

Step into a supportive and collaborative educational community as a Special Education Teacher at a 5/6 school known for its vibrant, dynamic program. Under the leadership of a principal with a special education background, youll work alongside a full-time interventionist and an SEL counselor, ensuring students have access to a range of resources to help them succeed.

Key

Qualifications:

  • Valid certification in Special Education
  • Prior experience working with students with mild to moderate specific learning disabilities
  • Strong skills in developing and implementing IEPs, particularly targeting math and literacy support
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with general education staff and support personnel
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Passion for fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 22 students, providing individualized and small group instruction
  • Develop, adapt, and deliver lesson plans that support learners with SLDs, mainly in math and literacy
  • Collaborate with the interventionist, SEL counselor, and general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications
  • Monitor, assess, and document student progress toward academic and behavioral goals
  • Maintain regular communication with families and participate in IEP meetings
  • Contribute to the schools vibrant culture, supporting initiatives that promote student well-being and success

Contract opportunity
